Brues Alehouse Brewing Co
Our Impression: IPA's are a style that can vary from light, bitter and effervescent, to cloying, grassy, and over hopped. There have been so many different kinds of IPAs produced that it is hard to know what is what anymore. What we wanted to do is go back to the roots of it all. Create an IPA that is enjoyable to drink, with classic hops and a classic malt bill. We gave the beer a bit of color, malt presence, and mouthfeel with the carahell and torrefied wheat. Then we stuck to some simple classic hops to give that amazing pine and grapefruit character while keeping the lbs/gal on the lower side to stay away from the grass-like compounds that can come about with large amounts of hops. All of that coupled with a "lager-like" brewing proccess and out comes The IPA. We think it is an absolute pleasure to drink; clean, bright bitterness, malty body, and a classic floral bouque!
