We’ve been looking to better understand German Malts and how they adapt to specific processes. We know that German beer is exceptional because they have developed impeccable processes, and they also understand their ingredients on a highly technical level. They build their breweries to brew very specific beer styles with often very simple recipes. Germans have some of the best brewing technology in the world and they are capable of making very minute, yet consistent adjustments to maintain the utmost beer quality. Our inspiration for Munich Lager comes from our Maltser, Weyermann Malting, from Bamberg, Germany, as well as the Bavarian brewing tradition. We are showcasing the world-class malt quality from Weyermann with our best interpretation of traditional Bavarian brewing technique. We’re quite proud of the result and hope you enjoy it as well!
Aroma: Rich Toasted Malt, Subtle Sweet Dark Fruit
Appearance: Pours bright with a deep red hue, creamy head, great lacing.
Flavor: Clean fermentation characteristics are combined with a lasting malt impression. The rich malt profile comes from both ingredients and process. Munich Type II is a highly kilned base malt with an intense malt complexity. If you are looking for a malt forward beer, this is the one.
Mouthfeel: Silky and medium-light, with medium carbonation.
