Our Impression: Belgian style beers are quite unique to the world. Generally, Belgian styles are characterized by expressive fruit-forward yeast and higher than average ABV. After traveling through Belgium, we realized there are quite a few misconceptions about Belgian beers, and how they should be brewed. In fact, Belgian brewing philosophy is much closer to German philosophy than American philosophy. Time, process, and rigid understanding of ingredients and technology are required to brew these styles. To be truthful, this is really the first Belgian style that we feel we've properly executed. We are super proud and excited to share this with you! The return of Boneman Blonde, one of the first beers we ever brewed (2015) is back, with a different approach and new appreciation and understanding for the style!
Aroma: Sweet malt, banana, bubble gum, and pear create a lovely and fresh aroma.
Appearance: Boneman pours pale straw with moderate cloudiness. A thick white lasting foam emerges with medium carbonation.
Flavor: Our Belgian blonde takes on an elegant and complex approach. A delightful sweet malt character emerges from double decocted floor malted pilsner malt. This combined with our fruit forward yeast creates a beautiful result of interesting esters and malt character. Naturally carbonated and primed with Belgian candi sugar, this beer takes the traditional process for a traditional result. Fresh, estery, and drinkable, this is a classic Belgian blonde.
Mouthfeel: Full, chewy, and creamy, with medium carbonation.
